Our Recipe | Simple and Delicious Pumpkin Seed Mylk

This simple recipe is a go to at home Nut Mylk that is super versatile, tastes great and has amazing health benefits! Pumpkin seeds are packed with vitamins and trace minerals including phosphorus, magnesium, iron, copper, zinc, vitamin K, vitamin E and vitamin B! 

 

Pumpkin seeds are known help with sleep regulation, are anti-inflammatory, encourage mental well-being, and are also known to help lower cholesterol and overall heart health! What's not to love about Pumpkin Seed Mylk?! 

 

Total Time: 10 minutes

Makes: 1 litre

 

Ingredients:

1 and ¼ cup of pumpkin seeds

1 heaping teaspoon of cinnamon

1 tablespoon of organic maple syrup

1 pinch of Himalyan pink salt

4 cups of filtered water

1 Nut Mylk bag                       

 

Instructions:

Soak your pumpkin seeds overnight, we recommend at least 8 hours, this helps emulsify the pumpkin seeds for creamier, more nutrient dense Mylk.

 

Once nuts have soaked, strain and give them a good rinse before transferring to a high-speed blender. Add ingredients for flavour, we’ve chosen cinnamon and maple, however this is your chance to get creative and use the ingredients and flavours you love!

 

Blend for 2-3 minutes on high to fully breakdown the pumpkin seeds, then transfer into your Nut Myk Bag for straining. With 2 hands begin to gently squeeze the bag, moving the pulp to help squeeze out every drop! Continue to squeeze until all liquid has been squeezed out and what’s left over is dry pulp.

 

Be sure to save your highly nutritious pulp (either refrigerate or freeze if you cannot use it right away), which is full of fibre, healthy fats and all the amazing vitamins and nutrients that pumpkin seeds offer! Then transfer

your mylk to 1 litre container.

 

 

Refrigerate and enjoy in your coffee, smoothies, cereal, baking, overnight oats, the list goes on and on! Drink up in 4 - 6 days.
